in clear, colored or decorated glass. Most are break and chip-resistant

on the pictures to get more detailed information. In 2005 Arc
International, blurred the clear line between their Tempered (Arcoroc)
and Non-Tempered (Luminarc) glass dinnerware they had worked to
achieve. The Arcoroc name was phased out and now everything is
labeled Luminarc. We will, for the time being, still use Arcoroc
to denote tempered glass and Luminarc to denote non-tempered glass
dishes.

chip-resistant tempered glass. Glass dinnerware offers you a number of
advantages over traditional dinnerware.
One major advantage
is that glass does not develop cracks that harbor disease causing organisms.
Traditional pottery dinnerware develops cracks from age or from thermal
stress of being used in the microwave. This is not a problem with glass
or stoneware dinnerware, especially the tempered or break and chip-resistant
glass.
Another advantage
is that glass dinnerware is economical and recyclable. Glass is made from
clean sand that can be recycled again and again. Because the basic ingredients
are inexpensive and glass is easily handled by automated factories glass
dinnerware offers consumers economical and easy to clean dinnerware.
Tempered glass
dinnerware is more economical in the long run, it also has several other
advantages as well. Tempered glass is thinner yet much stronger then regular
glass to both mechanical as well as thermal stress. Because it is break
and chip-resistant it will last for generations in your kitchen when given
a little care. Tempered glass dinnerware resists stress from heat and
cold so it can be used in your freezer and microwave.
Tempered glass
is thinner then traditional pottery dinnerware. You can store almost twice
the number of plates in your kitchen then you could with regular dinnerware. |
