The high cost of operating forced the owners to sell the old Picardie factory to Bormioli a few years ago.
Bormioli Rocco Glass bought the Duralex brand to expand their market penetration.
Bormioli updated the Picardie design and moved production to their modern factories.

Funding was found to reopen the old Picardie factory but it was in financial trouble in a few months.
In the fall of 2006 the old factory was laying off personnel with trade papers painting a bleak picture.
At that time some Picardie was still being produced but distribution was limited to Europe.
